First Family of Basketball Makes Major Announcement
The Naismith Family traveled to Greeneville, Tennessee, to officially announce the recipient of the Naismith Legacy Award. Coach P and the N.E.M. Sports team were honored to host them and showcase some of the treasures that make East Tennessee special.
A visit to N.E.M. Sports headquarters was a must during their stay. The family had the opportunity to step onto the SRV Trainer Court, take a few shots, and experience firsthand the innovative training system that has gained national attention. They also toured the facility where SRV Trainers are assembled, prepared, and shipped to customers across the country.
The visit was a memorable experience for everyone involved and highlighted the growing impact that a homegrown East Tennessee company is making within the basketball community.

One of the highlights of this journey was standing alongside the Naismith family as they presented Shaquille O’Neal with an award. The moment didn't end there—after the presentation, they shared some court time with Shaq, turning the occasion into a friendly shooting contest to see who still had the better touch. It was a unique reminder of how basketball has a way of bringing together legends, innovators, and lifelong fans of the game.
